Eeben Barlow

Eeben Barlow served as a Lt Col (Commandant) in the pre-1994 SADF and later as a General officer in several African armies where he has commanded units ranging from Special Operations Groups, Mobile Strike Forces, and other units to division level. He is the Chairman of the newly reactivated Executive Outcomes Ltd, as well as the Chairman (Africa) for the US-based Studebaker Defence Group.  He is the author of three best-selling books: “Executive Outcomes: Against all Odds”; “Composite Warfare: The Conduct of Successful Ground Force Operations in Africa”; and “The War for Africa: Conflict, Crime, Corruption and Foreign Interests”. He frequently lectures at defence colleges and universities across the world. He was, for several years, a contributing editor to the US Homeland security’s ‘The Counter Terrorist magazine’. Eeben is a regular speaker at international defence and security conferences and seminars. He is the Honorary Consul of Sao Tome and Principe, and a proud member of Rooiplaas Veterans association.
